11 Apr 1917: | Honoured Military Cross, Bullecourt (First), For gallant conduct on the night of the attack on the Hindeburg line west of Queant on 11th April 1917. This officer (Lieutenant) led his platoon with gallantry and captured first objective where he was severely wounded. He remained with his plattoon notwithstanding and supervised the work of consolidation until weakness through loss of blood forced him to evacuate the trench.
