Son of Richard John Jupp Ockenden and Mary Elizabeth Ockenden nee Lampard of Burra, SA. Stanley was baptised in the Burra Anglican Church, Burra during 1891

Brother of Oliver Henry (Twist) Ockenden who returned to Australia on 10 May 1918 having served with the 50th Battalion; Arthur Gordon Ockenden who returned to Australia on 11 October 1918 having served with the 7th Field Ambulance; Charles Levi Ockenden who returned to Australia on 8 September 1919 having served with the Australian Flying Corps; Harold Ockenden who was killed in action on 7 October 1917 and has no known grave, his name appears on Menin Gate, Ypres, Panel 23; Richard Allan Ockenden who returned to Australia on 16 October 1915 having served with the 3rd Light Horse Regiment

Husband of Annie Frances Ockenden nee Duff of Walter Street, Footscray, Victoria. Stanley and Annie married during 1914c in Broken Hill, NSW.
