| 19 Aug 1918: | Honoured Military Medal, Bullecourt (First), Extract army form W3121 - Throught the winter on the Somme (Fieurs) Pte Rogers was acting as runner. At all times he showed great determination and pluck in getting messages through from the front line to Battalion HQ under heavy shell fire, and direct machine gun fire. Pte Rogers showed great courage in acting as special runner in the following battlest - Bullscourt, Passchendale Dernacourt, Monument Wood, Proyart (8/08/1918). Attack on outposts of the Hindenburg Line on the 19/08/1918. Pte Rogers set a very high standard for runners and has stood out on account of his exceptional courage, energy and cheerfulness.
