Thomas Watson Smith was the 3rd of 9 children of Thomas Watson Smith Snr and Alice Beatrice Harding of Wide Bay in Queensland. Thomas was a Farmer at Kilkivan in Wide Bay QLD when he enlisted in the AIF in 1915, and served with 13th Reinforcements 5th Light Horse and 56th Battalion as a Gunner and Mustered Driver (Service No: 1925)
Thomas returned to Wide Bay, QLD following his Discharge, and married Eva Ellen Schekoskia in Wide Bay, QLD in 1921. Thomas and his family continued to farm at Nikenbah, Howard, Wide Bay, QLD until his death in 1939
