Son of Frederick Fowke and Ellen Hannah Fowke nee Wickham of Longwarry, Victoria. Brother of George Maurice Fowke, Jessie Alice Fowke and Florence Victoria Fowke

At the time of enlistment his address was Artillery Barracks, QLD where had served from 23 November 1911 until being discharged to join the A.I.F. on 31 May 1915

Served in the NSW Police from 1920 to 1927

Husband of Rose Matilda Fowke formerly Mulraine nee Penney of Wilton Road, Quidhampton, England. Alfred and Rose were married on 1 October 1918 Wilton Registry Office, Wiltshire, England

Commenced return to Australia on 16 June 1919 aboard SS Ormonde disembarking on the 1 August 1919
