1911-Cycles alone from Adelaide to Perth

1912-Cycles alone from Perth to Adelaide and on to Melbourne in thirty-two and a half days (and then cycles back to Adelaide)

1914-Jack and Edward Reichenbach (aka Ryko) attempt to break cycling record to Darwin. Jack delayed by ankle injury near SA/NT border. Ryko continues and sets new record of 28 days. Jack arrives 10 days later.

Aug 1915-Leaves Darwin to cycle to Adelaide to enlist AIF, and attempt to break Ryko's 1914 record for the journey. A broken crank near Powells Creek (NT) prevents the record attempt.

Sept 1915-Arrives in Adelaide 40 days after leaving Darwin.

Sept 1915-Enlisted in the AIF. Served in the 2nd Australian Tunnelling Company. Overseas from February 1916 to June 1919.
