Edward Mynderse Paul FORSAYTH was born on 11th November, 1897 in Rabaul, Papua New Guinea

His parents were Jonas Mynderse Coe FORSAYTH & Ida SCHMUETZ who married in Samoa in December 1895

He married Miriam Blanche SAWKIN in St Clements Church of Mosman, Sydney on 22nd August, 1923 - 3 known children - John, Robert & Rex

He had previously served in the 41st Light Infantry before enlisting on 15th August, 1915 with the 3rd Infantry Battalion - he returned to Australia & was discharged on 15th February, 1916 as medically unfit

He re-enlisted on 13th August, 1940 & was discharged on 17th February, 1941 - serving as a Signalman in the School of Signals

His son John Mynderse Keys FORSAYTH (SN 66010) was in the RAAF and died on 9th July, 1945 & is buried in Ambon Cemetery - he was a Flight Sergeant in the 22 Squadron

Another son, Robert William Paul FORSAYTH (SN 0211816 - 14793 - 443304) also served in the RAAF and was discharged on 8th September, 1945
