News has readied Junee nf the death from wounds of Private Gordon James Davis, 30 years of age, who enlisted from Junee and was engaged with the Australians at the  Dardanelles. He was a single man and the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Davis, of Junee. Private Davis previous to enlisting, was an engine driver on the railways,  working the Junee to Goulburn section, and resigned his position to go to the war. He is a brother to Nurse Stella Davis, staff nurse attached to the hospital with the Australian expeditionary forces at Heliopolis, Cairo, and a nephew of Mr. Mat. Sawyer, of Bethungra. He was also a bro ther of Mr. Darcy Davis, saddler, for some years employed by Mr. W.J. 
Hiscock, Junee.
