Christ Church.
At the morning service in Christ Church on Sunday a beautiful memorial tablet in memory of the late Pte Richard Alfred Meech, son of Mr I. Meech, was unveiled. There was a large congregation, Dr Radford, Bishop of Goulburn, occupied the pulpit and preached an eloquent and appropriate sermon, taking for his subject, "Sacrifice." The memorial, which is a brass plate, beautifully mounted, was draped with the Union Jack, and when unveiled by Mr. I. Meech, jun., the following inscription was to be seen: " To the glory of God, and in memory of Richard Alfred Meech, killed in action at Gallipoli, August 7th, 1915, aged 29 years." 'The labourer's task is o'er.' " Erected by his father, mother, sisters, and brother, Queanbeyan." The late Pte. Meech, was one of the first Queanbeyan boys to enlist, and served his apprenticeship to the printing trade in the AGE office.
