Husband of Ida Ellen Owen nee Rickard of Cornubia Bay View Crescent, Black Rock Sandringham, Victoria. Edward and Ida married during 1915c in Victoria.

Commenced return to Australia on 2 June 1919 aboard HT Beltana disembarking on 19 July 1919
