Next of kin given as his sister Mrs. Whitelaw of Jacqueline Street, London, Ontario, Canada. Later changed to his adopted mother Agnes McCreadie of Raine Street, Saltcoats, Aryshire, Scotland
Previously served with the 5th Royal Canadian Highland Regiment for about 3 years.
Commenced return to Australia on HT Ceramic on 4 May 1915 disembarking on 25 May 1915 at Melbourne and returned to duty on 1 June 1915 at Broadmeadows, Victoria.
