Son of William Rufus Curtis and Rachel Curtis of Sydney, NSW.
Brother of Mrs. Slater nee Curtis of 44 Greek Street, Glebe, NSW and Frederick Henry Curtis who died of wounds at sea on board HS Nevaska on 26 August 1915 from the wounds he received while serving with the 18th Battalion. He was buried in the East Mudros Military Cemetery. Plot 11, Row I, Grave 144
