Berryman, Christopher. Service Number #8371 was a 23-year-old man when he enlisted for WW1 on 31-5-1915 at Keswick, SA, Australia. He was born in 1892. Prior to the war Berryman was a volunteer cadet for 12 years and had an occupation as a bricklayer. Christopher was 5 feet and 6 inches in height, 170cm, of average height for the time. He weighed 162lbs or 73kg and had a chest measurement of 36 inches. Berryman had brown eyes and dark hair. He was born and raised in Glenelg with his home address being No.2 Moore Street, Adelaide, SA. His religious denomination was the Church of England and was never married. In the war his unit was the
6th Field Artillery Brigade with his rank being a Driver. He stayed with the 6th FAB through 1916 and 1917 but in early 1918 was transferred to the 4th Division, ending up in the Divisional Ammunition Column. He returned to Australia in April 1919.
