Lieutenant Noel Beresford Forster Rutledge belonged to the 3rd Div. (Heavy) Trench Mortar Bty. Australian Field Artillery.
He was killed in action on June 3, 1917 (just a few days before the Battle of Messines) at the age of 32.
He was the son of Thomas Forster Rutledge and Edith Annie Lydia Rutledge, of 'Yarravale', Grange Rd., Toorak, Victoria, Australia.
Lt. Rutledge was native of Warrnambool, Victoria.
He is buried in Ploegsteert (Comines-Warneton, Belgium) at Strand Military Cemetery (I.F.1)
