His next of kin was Mrs FC Horton c/o Mrs Hardinge HM Prison Nottingham.

He enlisted 27/1/1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT A38 Ulysses 10/5/1915. He died of wounds having served at Gallipoli, Egypt and on the Western Front.
