Biography

Alwynne Stanley BOWKER was born in 1879 in Camperdown, Hampton, Victoria

His parents were John BOWKER and Eliza LORD

He enlisted on 17th September 1914 with the Australian Army - he was with the  8th Light Horse Regiment, B Squadron - Unit embarked from Melbourne on board HMAT Star of Victoria on 25th February 1915

His brother Percy John BOWKER also served in WW1 & one cousin was killed in action

Alwynne was Killed In Action on 7th August 1915 - No Known Grave - he is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial and The Australian War Memorial and also on the Camperdown Roll of Honour in Victoria
