CORPORAL T. A. SHEPLEY
Chronicle (Adelaide, SA: 1895 - 1954) Saturday 19 June 1915
CORPORAL A. SHEPLEY.
Corporal Alan Shepley (killed in action on June 4) was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Shepley, of Ophir-street, Goodwood Park, and had just passed his 20th year. He was educated at the Goodwood public school, Adelaide High School, and Prince Alfred College, and afterwards attended Muirden College for special subjects. He joined the clerical staff of the South Australian railway service (Loco. Department) three or four years ago, and on enlisting he received a gift from his fellow-officers. He took great interest in church work, being connected with St. George's, Goodwood, where he made many friends. The esteem in which he was held was feelingly displayed in the large attendances at the church last Sunday, when special services were held.
