14 Oct 1917:	Honoured Military Medal, Citation reads: Showed great courage and devotion to duty when acting as Telephonist and Linesman and assistant to an F.O.O. during the operations East of Westhoek on 20th September 1917. He repaired lines while under heavy sniping and machine gun fire. He was constantly under direct observation of the enemy and his work was of the greatest assistance. Son of John Hogg and Gertrude Hogg of Marulan, NSW.

Brother of Austin Hogg who returned to Australia on 27 January 1917 having served with the 14th Field Artillery Brigade and Lance Austin Hogg who returned to Australia on 10 March 1919 having served in the 5th Field Artillery

Commenced return to Australia on 22 November 1919 aboard HT Aeneas disembarking on 12 January 1920

Medals: Military Medal, British War Medal, Victory Medal

Previously served in the Naval Cadets for eighteen months

During 1928c Eric married Hannah V. Donohoe in Waverley, NSW
