2 Sep 1916: Enlisted AIF WW1, Private, 7221, Place of enlistment - Melbourne
19 Feb 1917: Embarked AIF WW1, Private, 7221, Embarked on HMAT 'A70' Ballarat from Melbourne on 19th February 1917, disembarking Devonport, England 25th April 1917. Private Darcy was on board the 'Ballarat' when it was torpedoed on the way to England. The men were rescued in small life-boats. https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/C175198
26 Apr 1917: Transferred AIF WW1, Private, 2nd Training Battalion
18 Oct 1917: Embarked AIF WW1, Private, 7221, 2nd Training Battalion, Proceeded overseas to France from Southampton on 18th October 1917.
1 Nov 1917: Transferred AIF WW1, Private, 8th Infantry Battalion
12 Apr 1918: Embarked AIF WW1, Private, 7221, 8th Infantry Battalion, Admitted to 2nd A.F.A. on 27th February 1917 with Scarlett Fever and then transferred to 7th General Hospital St Omer. On 12th April 1918 embarked for England. Admitted to Ontario Military Hospital at Orpington Kent. Discharged on 25th May 1918 and reported for duty to No. 1 Command Depot at Sutton Veny. Readmitted to Military Hospital at Sutton Veny on 7th August 1918 and discharged on 10th August 1918 reporting again to No. 1 Command Depot.
4 Sep 1918: Transferred AIF WW1, Private, Overseas Training Brigade
28 Sep 1918: Transferred AIF WW1, Private, Machine Gun Companies and Battalions
4 Nov 1918: Embarked AIF WW1, Private, 7221, Machine Gun Companies and Battalions, Proceeded overseas to France.
12 Dec 1918: Transferred AIF WW1, Private, 1st Machine Gun Battalion
12 Jun 1919: Embarked AIF WW1, Private, 7221, 1st Machine Gun Battalion , Embarked on HT Port Darwin from England on 12th June 1919, disembarking Melbourne on 27th July 1919.
19 Sep 1919: Discharged AIF WW1, Private, 7221, 1st Machine Gun Battalion , Private Darcy was discharged from the AIF at Melbourne as Medically Unfit (Disability: Post Scarlet Fever Debility).

Son of Jessie DARCY (nee CHRISTIE - born 1858 Hobart Tasmania, died 18th June 1950 Lauriston Victoria) of Hutton Street, Kyneton Victoria and James Patrick DARCY born 10th September 1857, Windsor died 16th March 1908 Lauriston Victoria.
