"...2777 Sergeant John Allen Law, 51st Battalion from Southern Cross, Western Australia. An 18 year old farmer prior to enlisting on 21 June 1915, he embarked for overseas as a Private with the 9th Reinforcements of the 11th Battalion from Fremantle, Western Australia on 5 October 1915 aboard HMAT Hororata. On arrival in Egypt, he transferred to the 51st Battalion and was promoted to Sergeant. While serving in France, he was killed in action at Mouquet Farm on 3 September 1916. Sgt Law is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, France with others who have no known grave." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
