Ernest Charles MANCER was born in Rochester, Victoria in 1897
His parents were Albert MANCER & Susan Catherine WATERS
He enlisted in Melbourne on 25th January, 1916 & embarked with the 7th Infantry Battallion, 16th reinforcements from Melbourne on the HMAT Suffolk on 1st January, 1916
He was transferred to the 59th Infantry Battalion on 24th May, 1916 & then to the 57th Infantry Battalion on 22nd July, 1916
Ernest was Killed in Action in Belgium on 12th December, 1917 - he is buried in Derry House Cemetery
