"...2350 Private Francis Thomas Joseph Kilmartin, 16th Battalion, of North Adelaide, SA. A bushman prior to enlistment, Pte Kilmartin embarked with the 7th Reinforcements from Adelaide on HMAT Kanowna on 24 June 1915. After transferring to the 48th Battalion and being promoted to lance corporal, he was killed in action on 8 June 1917 in Belgium, aged 31." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
