Son of Alexander Duthie  Adams of London, England. 

Husband of Christina May Adams nee Ward of 5 Enterprise Street, Unley, SA later of Wirrabarra, SA. John and Christina married on the 30 May 1914 in the Clare area, SA. Rev. Joseph Clarke officiated

Father of Marjory Adams and Anneta Scott Adams

On 30 May 1916 he was reported as not re-embarking HMAT Osterley at Fremantle, WA and was listed as a deserter.

On 21 July 1920 he was discharged in accordance of desertion.
