PRIVATE L. F. SHELTON.

"Mr. and Mrs. H. Shelton, of Kangaroo Gully, have received word from the Defence department stating that their third son, Private Leonard F. Shelton, of the 57th Battalion, was killed in action on the 26th of September in France.

He was born and brought up in Kangaroo Gully, was educated at the Kangaroo Flat State School and was 22 years of age. He enlisted in March, 1915 and embarked on the 25th June, 1915. 

Prior to enlisting he was employed for four years by Mr. Thomas G. Issell, butcher, Golden Square. He was well respected by all that knew him. The sad news was conveyed to the parents by the Rev. W. J. Foster."
