Served as 330 Lance Sergeant William Lennon 7th Infantry Battalion on enlistment in Australia with B Compan 1914. transferred to C Company and appointment Lance Corporal at Substantive rank on Gallipoli 1915. Convalescence in the UK ex Malta 1915-1916.
Discharged / Re-enlisted Melbourne allocated to 9th reinforcement's 46th Battalion at Broadmeadows Camp Victoria 1917 . Regimental Number 3496. Transferred to Machine Gun Details Parkhouse for service 1918-19
