Son of Peter and Esther Shipp of 68 Martin Road, Middlesborough, England. Brother of James Hutchinson Shipp who was killed in action at Neuve on 12 March 1915 while serving with the 1st Grendadier Guards and Ellen Shipp of Perth. WA. Peter and Ellen operated a cafe and refreshment camp at Perth, WA
