"FATALITY AT SAWMILLS.
CONDOBOLIN, Monday. Arthur McCurrie, aged 27, son of Mr. William McCurrie, of Glencoe, near Condobolin, met with a shocking accident recently at Foster's sawmills, near Melrose Plains. He was acting as benchman, and by some means slipped and fell against a saw in motion. Both his arms were taken off, and his head was shockingly injured. He died when within nine miles of Condobolin. Mr. H. C. Moulder, Coroner, held an inquiry at Condobolin, and returned a finding of accidental death. The deceased was a member of a highly-respected family. He saw active Service along with two brothers." - from the Sydney Morning Herald 11 Sep 1923 (nla.gov.au)
