OBITUARY NOTICES.
MR. DANIEL AILE.
Aftei' a lengthy illness, Mr. Daniel
Aile, of 91 Dover-road, passed away
at his residence on September 26.
Deceased, who was born at Dunedin,
N.Z., was 47 years of age, and leaves
a widow and one daughter to mourn
their loss. Deceased had seen service
at the Great War. The funeral, which
was largely attended, took place on
Friday afternoon, the remains being
interred in the Williamstown Ceme-
tery. There was a large collection of
floral tributes, amongst which was
noticed a wreath from his workmates
at the Newport Workshops. The
coffin-bearers were Messrs. J. Watson,
W. Rankin, W. Hayes and G. Bloy.
The pall was supported by the follow-
ing gentlemen: Messrs. A. Ridgeway,
W. Armstrong, T. McGrath, R. Mar-
shall, H. Dracy, D. Bourke, P. Reeves
and J. Turner. Everyone of the coffin
bearers and the pall-bearers were re-
turned soldiers. Mr. C. Rowbottom
sounded the last post. The Rev.
Muller was the officiating clergyman
at both the house and the grave. Bro.
Strong, of the Trafalgar Lodge, read
the Druids' service. Nelson ,Bros. had
charge of the funeral arrangements.
