Son of Thomas Hayes and Catherine Hayes of 46 Mendo Street, Victoria Park, WA formerly of Geraldton, WA
Brother of Clarence Patrick Hayes who was killed in action on 28 May 1917 while serving with the 4th Divisional Ammunition Column and was buried in the Westhof Farm Cemetery. Plot 1, Row A, Grave 9
