Private Frederick Russell BELLCHAMBERS
Born 23rd April 1895 Port Frederick Tasmania to John Russell and Mary Anne Bellchambers (nee How) he embarked Sydney 9th May 1917 on board “HMAT Ulysses with the 2nd Machine Gun Company.
He was hit by a shell and died 29th September 1918 and was buried in the Unicorn Cemetery, Vend'huile, France.
Mr and Mrs J R Bellchambers of Moriarty have lost their son Frederick Russell Bellchambers the result of wounds received on September 29, 1918. The lad left for the front on October 9 1916 and after spending 12 months in England went into action as a gunner. He spent 8 months on the Somme celebrating his 23rd birthday there on April 23rd.
