17 Jun 1919: Honoured Military Medal, "The Last Hundred Days", For courage and devotion to duty near Hargicourt from 18/21 September 1918 - as section runner he twice volunteered and ran for stretcher bearers and guided parties to Aid Posts under heavy shell fire. On the morning of 21 September he ran back to the Company ammunition dumps through an exceptionally hostile barrage and maintained supplies at the guns at a critical time.
