CORPORAL JOHN FANNING,
KILLED IN ACTION.
On October 13th, Mrs. Fanning, of 'Ballyroon,' East Geelong, received the sad news that her elder son, Corporal John Fanning, had been killed in action in France on September 20th. Corporal Fanning was born in Corack, near Donald. He enlisted in Geelong on July 27th, 1915, and spent over two years on active service in Egypt and France. He had just  returned to the line after. his furlough, which was spent in England and Ireland with relatives. R.I.P.
