Address at the time of enlistment was 204 Devonshire Street, Surry Hills, NSW

Son of Mr. Beaton of 13 Chesterfield Grove, East Dulwich, London, England

Prior to enlisting he was working as a Clerk in the Engineering Branch of the P.M.G's. Department, Sydney, NSW. After his discharge he resumed working there from 30 February 1920 until 6 April 1920

Commenced return to Australia on 24 September 1918 on board HT Devon disembarking in Melbourne on 23 November 1918 then travelling to Sydney

Awarded Belgian Croix by the King of the Belgium. Citation reads: In recognition of the part played by this officer in rescuing on the 20th March 1918, several persons of Belgian nationality from a house in Calais which had been demolished by an enemy bomb.

Health deteriorated due to war injuries from head injuries from shell fire causing him to lose consiousness and having nervous break downs

In 1941 he was residing in Umina, NSW

Address at the time of death was 45 First Avenue, Kwinana, WA
