25 Apr 1915: Involvement AIF WW1, Gunner, 2386, 3rd Field Artillery Brigade , ANZAC / Gallipoli, Served at Gallipoli until evacuated to Alexandria on 20 Jul 15. Exact date of evacuation from ANZAC area unknown. Served in the Artillery with HQ 3 FAB and with 7th Battery.
12 Mar 1916: Transferred AIF WW1, Gunner, 11th Field Artillery Brigade , On return to Egypt after hospitalisation in England, was transferred to the 11 FAB in 4th Div. Posted to 111th Howitzer Battery.
19 Jul 1916: Involvement AIF WW1, Gunner, 2386, 111th Australian (Howitzer) Battery, Fromelles (Fleurbaix), Served in 111th Howitzer Battery during the battle. Guns were located near Bois Greiner.
15 Nov 1916: Involvement AIF WW1, Gunner, 2386, 111th Australian (Howitzer) Battery, 'The Winter Offensive' - Flers/Gueudecourt winter of 1916/17, On 22 Dec 16 was admitted to 5th Field Ambulance and then to 51st Gen Hospital (Etaples) with Rheumatism.
3 May 1917: Involvement AIF WW1, Gunner, 2386, 11th Field Artillery Brigade , Bullecourt (Second), Returned to active service and posted to 43rd Battery that had suffered considerable casualties in 1st Bullecourt. Unit moved to Messines on 14 May 17.
