'CRUTCHFIELD, Charles Henry. Driver, No. 21132, 26th Battery, 12th Brigade. Born at Owara, New Zealand, in 1897, and educated at East Brisbane State School. Son of the late George and Sarah Crutchfield, of Ipswich Road, Woolloongabba. Enlisted at Townsville on 18th December, 1915, and left for England on 11 th May, 1916, and went to Lark Hill Camp. Left for France on 18th November, and remained in the firing line till the signing of the Armistice. Left France in March, 1919, and arrived in Australia on 23rd July and was discharged on 30th July, 1919.' from Queenslanders Who Fought in the Great War. (nla.gov.au)
