Biography

Enlisted in Adelaide George Lelant was assigned to the 12th Battalion.  Although nominally drawn from Tasmania, it required 'rounding out' so soldiers from SA and WA were thus assigned.

"LeLANT.— In loving memory of Private G. E. LeLant (George), who fell at Pozieres, July 25, 1916.— Inserted by his father and mother, sisters and brother." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 27 Jul 1918
