"...New Year honours announced by the Naval Board yesterday. Lt. W. S. Bracegirdle, RAN, son of Capt. L. S. Bracegirdle, military secretary to the Governor-General is among NSW personnel decorated. Decorations and awards are:—

Son of Rear Admiral Sir Leighton and Lady Bracegirdle. Father with Eve Bracegirdle of Simon, Philada and Lt Cdr Nicolas, RN, ret, and brother of Brian (Canberra).
