Paid the Supreme Sacrifice
LAC Armstrong Killed in Accident
Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Armstrong, of Nuriootpa, have been notified that 
their son, LAC Horace Dudley Armstrong, met his death by accident
while serving at a South Australian RAAF training station. He was buried with full Air Force honors in the Port Pirie cemetery on April 25.
LAC Armstrong was born at Peterborough on January 23, 1925. He was employed at the head office of the Commonwealth Bank in Adelaide and was later transferred to the Port Augusta branch. He enlisted at Port Augusta in June, 1943, and had been training at New South Wales and South Australian stations.
He was a good all-round sports man, and while at the Burra High
School he held the cup for the best all-round athlete under 14. While in Port Augusta LAC Armstrong took a keen interest in tennis. He was a
member of the East-Park Club.

His parents were Horace Victor ARMSTRONG & Marjorie Ellen FELD who married in Fremantle, Western Australia in 1918

His Father Horace Victor ARMSTRONG (SN 363) served in WW1 in the 10th Light Horse Regiment & 14th Australian General Hospital and returned to Australia in 1917

His Brother Francis Philip ARMSTRONG (SN 416481) served in the RAAF durin WW2 and was discharged on 4th December, 1945
