Summary

John joined the R.A.A.F in Oct 1943. after undertaking training courses in Adelaide & Melbourne he became a flight rigger, obtaining the rank of Leading Air-craftsmen. He sent approximately eighteen months at the R.A.A.F base at Mallala working on Avro Ansons and Oxford aircraft.
In 1945 he was posted to various training areas in Queensland then to Townsville where he waited for his posting overseas on V.P. Day. Some months later he returned to Adelaide where he was discharged in Feb 1946.
