Son of James Crewe Hoge and Margaret Hoge nee Walsh of Indooroopily, QLD.
Brother of John Kenneth Hoge who returned to Australia during January 1920 having served with the 2nd Light Horse Field Ambulance and 26th Battalion and Paul Alfred Hoge who returned to Australia on 13 October 1919 having served with the 31st Battalion
Commenced return to Australia on 12 June 1919 aboard HT Port Darwin disembarking on 27 July 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane
