Warrant Officer Kane-Maguire 405357 RAAF and Flight Sergeant Arthur Galley 412004 RAAF of 464 Squadron RAAF were killed when Ventura AE937 was shot down and crashed in the English Channel near the Channel Islands, following a Squadron raid on the viaduct at St Brieuc, France
Also killed were Flight Sergeant Lawson RAF 656112 and Flight Sergeant Goodheart RAF 1376102
Their bodies were not recovered and they are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial
