Son of John Stenhouse Scott and Elsie Janet Scott, of Beechmont, Queensland
Flight Sergeant John Keith Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Scott, Beechmont, was for three years 1937-1939 a pupil at the College and pased the Junior Public Examination before leaving. For a few months we worked on his father's property and in June, 1940 began to take a correspondence course in Aero Engineering with a view to following a Civil Aviation career. In November 1941, he joined the R.A.A.F. and at the end of 1942 sailed for Canada where he received his wings as Air Bomber. His trainign was continues in Wales and engladn and early this year he became a Flight-Sergeant. He began his operational tours about April last, and in August his aircraft, a Lancaster bomber, failed to return from a flight over a target area in France. NOone was seen to leave the plane before it crashed and the officail report said that there was little hope for the safety of the crew. Keith was a popular member of is squadron and had the reputation of being a keen and efficeint Air Bomber. To his relatives and friends we extend our warm sympathy in their loss and anxiety.
