Visit Legerwood Tasmania to see their small avenue of carved trees (or view them on Google) The town records that William H Hyde was born 1st May 1889 at Longford Tas, the son of Henry George and Mary Anne Hyde of Franklin Village, Tas.
He served with the 52nd Infantry Battalion, wounded during war service at Armentieres France. He died 7th July 1916 aged 27 years. Lest We Forget.
