Son of George Frederick BUTTENSHAW (dec) and Mary nee RYAN, Church Street, Wickham, Newcastle, New South Wales

Charles saw service in France and Belgium and was severely gassed at Messines June 7, 1917 and invalided to England and then on to Australia and later discharged.
