THERE IS SOME CORNER OF A FOREIGN FIELD THAT IS FOREVER ENGLAND
Albert was serving in the Worcestershire Regiment when he died on 17 August 1917. Born in Tasmania, educated in Perth, he was studying law at Grays Inn in London when he enlisted. He must have been a notable cricketer as he was the first person to take 100 wickets in the Darlot Cup (the Private Schools Assocation of Western Australia Cricket Trophy). He had wanted to join the Royal Flying Corps, but was rejected due to colour blindness.
