Biography

Reginald Roy MacLean initially enlisted as Robert Roy Reginald MacLean with the Service Number 2504, on 10 Apr 1916 aged 16 years and 11 months (see LINK (recordsearch.naa.gov.au) to first Service Record) While on the HMAT Euripides, ready to embark, he was taken from the ship and discharged on 09 Sep 1916 having been found to be underage.

Then on 18 Nov 1916 Reginald Roy MacLean had more success, enlisting again, this time under the name Gordon Roy MacLean with Service Number 3181, and still not having reached the age of 18.
