CONDOBOLIN.
A SOLDIER'S DEATH.
Word has been received of the death in France from bronchial pneumonia on October 13 of Bombardier George Richmond Bowman, of Yarralee, Condobolin. He enlisted in 1916, and was the, only son of Mrs. Alex. Bowman, of Sydney, and the late Alex. Bowman, M.L.A.  He was to have been married on his return to Miss Hope Waugh, elder daughter of the Rev. R. Hope Waugh, of Neutral Bay.

1924 - The Bowman family has increased its subscription to take a bell of £100 in connection with Sydney University Fund - The Carillion - to commemorate Geroge Richmond Bowman.  Deceases was the only son of the late Alexander Boxman, formerly member for the Hawkesbury.

Dr. A. S. Bowman has received news that his cousin, Sergt. George Richmond Bowman, of the Australian Artillery, died in France of pneumonia, on October 13, The deceased soldier, who was a fine type of young Australian manhood, was unmarried, and had been on active service some 18 months. He was the only son of the late Mr Alexander Bowman, who will be well remembered here, having been Mayor for many years. The late Mr Alex. Bowman was also the owner of "Oaklands" in this district, and for some years represented the Hawkesbury electorate in Parliament. There are four branches of Dr. Bowman's family, which have their only sons at the war, his own being one of the numbers.
