24 Apr 1900: Embarked Australian and Colonial Military Forces - Boer War Contingents, Embarked on the SS Armenian with the Imperial Bushmen. Not listed as part of the contingent just mentioned in news articles that he left with them.
26 Jul 1900: Enlisted 1040, George attested in Pietermaritzburg in Natal. He was one of many Australians who enlisted into Bethune's Mounted Infantry.
6 Oct 1900: Transferred Unspecified British Units, George transfers over to the Transvaal Constabulory for 3 months. He writes to his Father on the 20th January 1901 that his time as a Police Trooper in Pretoria is over and he hopes to rejoin his Regiment who are chasing De Wet in the Free State.
30 Jun 1901: Embarked George returns to Australia on the "Damascus" departing from Cape Town after surviving the Boer War.
