Son of Robert Oouthwaite and Blanche Isabel Outhwaite nee Clark of Doncaster, Victoria.
Next of kin given as his brother Edward Walter Outhwaite C/- Blake and Riggall, Solicitors, Melbourne, Victoria.
Previously served with the 5th Victorian Mounted Rifles in the Boer War with service number 1255 and rank of Sergeant.
Commenced return to Australia on 5 March 1919 aboard HT Port Sydney disembarking on 17 April 1919
