1 Apr 1916: Transferred AIF WW1, Private, 58th Infantry Battalion
11 May 1916: Promoted AIF WW1, Lance Corporal, 58th Infantry Battalion
17 Jun 1916: Embarked AIF WW1, Lance Corporal, 4500, 58th Infantry Battalion, Embarked on HMT Transylvania from Alexandria, Egypt on 17th June 1916, disembarking Marseilles, France on 23rd June 1916 to join British Expeditionary Force.
3 Oct 1916: Transferred AIF WW1, Lance Corporal, 14th Field Ambulance
21 Jan 1917: Wounded AIF WW1, Lance Corporal, 4500, 14th Field Ambulance, Shrapnel wound to the hip, causing compound fracture of crest of illum posteriorly. Treated at Reading War Hospital London. Whilst wound healed some disability resulted.
11 Sep 1917: Embarked AIF WW1, Lance Corporal, 4500, 14th Field Ambulance, Embarked for return to Australia and medical discharge on 11th September 1917, disembarking Melbourne on 13th November 1917.
